Torches get Passed

It is not very often the Past and the Future land in the same place.

On April 24th 2009, I had the privilege of attending the 2009 Business Breakfast with the Mayor with the Irvine Chamber of Commerce. Not only did I watch as KIA Motors was named 2008 Business of The Year, but all in attendance got to say one last good-bye to outgoing Irvine Chamber CEO Jacquie Warren who is retiring after years of service to the business community in Irvine. Minutes later, we were introduced to Tallia Hart, the woman who will be following in her footsteps.

Not bad for a Friday morning before 9am!

September Happenings!

NEWSFLASH: it is practically the end of the year.
 
I figured this out earlier this week while working on a project with a client. Call me slow, but sometimes I get so caught up in the day to day that I can loose track of the bigger picture if I don’t keep myself – and my clients – “on task”.

 

As business people, we ought know better!  As successful business people, we know this is easier said that done.  As such, the easiest way to keep track of where you are going is to have a plan to get there.  We make plans for our mornings and plans for our weekends, doesn’t it make sense to have a plan for our business?
 
So, the question of the day is: “Do You Have Your Plan for 2009″ together?  Do you know what is going to happen in January? Have you thought about what your corporate goals for 2009 are?  October is the perfect time to sit down and put 2009 on course.(or at least the start of it!)  The upside of planning in October is that you can enjoy the holidays – rather than trying to get it together while simultaneously shopping for the perfect gift for little Julie.
